It's another week of fun things and, as is often the case, food, books and games (as well as a quirky find) made the list.

šŸ„Ø It was a big week of markets for me, visiting both South Melbourne Market and Queen Victoria Market. I tried a pretzel, a citrus and currant spelt scone (pretty good), some spicy macadamias and a Turkish pastry. I stocked up on cheese, including Australia's best brie of 2023 (which is an actual award, not just my opinion). I also stopped at a tea shop and selected an apple tisane that sounded nice.

šŸŽ„ While in Geelong, I stopped to see the floating Christmas tree, which apparently has its own livestream (or did when I wrote this).

šŸ¦ With the weather warming up, I tried an ice cream shop that takes inspiration from Filipino flavours. There were some combinations that I found unexpected for ice cream (such as cheese and vanilla with cashews), but the mango with biscuit pieces that I had was really nice. Maybe next time I'll be more adventurous.

ā“ We tried a new game this week: Hard Quiz, the fast edition. This version has a close similarity to the show in that it is played in three rounds, but (unlike the original game) it doesn't use a board, just lots of questions from the show. We modified the rules slightly to make it more competitive with two players, and it worked quite well.

āš›ļø I started a new book called The Matter of Everything: Twelve Experiments that Changed Our World, by Suzie Sheehy. So far I've learnt that the x in x-ray originally meant unknown, and it seems like it was intended to be temporary, but the name stuck. This book's been on my virtual book pile (it's an audiobook) for a while, so I thought I'd start it. I'm still trying to complete my reading challenge for the year, despite having to finish approximately a book a day from now until the end of the year to achieve that. (Note to self: don't set the goal of a book a week in the same year as major changes like starting a new job in another city.)

Well, the week has flown by! I hope your week has been fun. I'm looking forward to sharing more fun things with you next week.

Thanks for reading šŸ˜Š
