Film festivals, a return to knitting, and writing in bed
As the cooler weather (and my current busy season) continues, I'm getting back into cosy craft and finding reasons to stay warm in bed.
๐ฌ We wrapped up our German Film Festival for 2024 with Andrea Gets a Divorce, one of the lighter films we saw this year. After the cinema, we discussed film festivals over beer and a German wurst platter. A friend recently suggested the online Japanese Film Festival, so maybe that will be next.
๐ For some cosy crime, we're watching Father Brown. Although I miss Bunty, I'm quite liking the new people in the story. Mrs Devine, in particular, has some great outfits.
๐งถ Knitting is back! Despite having multiple partly finished projects, I've started another one. It's nothing fancy and mainly to work on some technical skills, but it's nice to have something to do while watching television or as a little break when working from home.
๐๏ธ Following the successful implementation of a similar strategy to boost my reading, I'm now testing the idea that I can get more writing done by writing in bed. I know you're not supposed to work in bed, but I also don't like getting up too early (especially when it's cold) and reading in bed on weekends has worked for me. Hence, I'm trying a cup of tea and typing on my laptop for a short writing stint before I get up properly.
๐ After another busy week, we rounded out this week's fun things with a pizza and movie night, followed by cassata (an Italian layered ice cream) for dessert.
As always, thanks for reading and subscribing!
Wishing you a fun week ahead ๐
