London Particular, Rhapsody in Blue, and cross-stitch daisies
It's been a week of mostly cosy fun things to do at home. Here are some highlights from my week:
š With the start of winter, it's time for soup season. This week the Bevilacqua household made (or in my case just ate) a pretty decent London Particular, made with yellow split peas. I also had a tasty udon soup. I'm looking forward to making more favourite soups, and maybe trying some new ones, over the coming months.
š„Ŗ Still on food, we tried Chilean steak sandwiches, and they were quite good. The sandwich place turned out to be right next to the Adelaide Arcade museum, so we also browsed the history displays and found stories about umbrella stores and tea rooms.
š² The game of the week was Vegemite Monopoly. It follows the same format as regular Monopoly, but instead of buying property there are Vegemite jars from history as well as other brand items to purchase. I was a happy little Vegemite because I bought the jingle and I got to be the toaster piece.
š¼ I've been trying to catch up on my stitching. I'm currently working on a small design with lots of yellow daisies.
š¼ This week George Gershwin is featured on the Mornings Playlist on ABC Classic, so I've enjoyed listening along to music like Rhapsody in Blue while I'm working. My weekend soundtrack is also sorted with this year's Classic 100 countdown starting on Saturday. I'll be listening to as much of this as I can!
I've had lots on this week and there are a few more fun things in the works, so I look forward to sharing them with you soon.
Wishing you a fun-filled week š
